Metallica – 5.98 EP – Garage Days Re-Revisited

Metallica – 5.98 EP – Garage Days Re-Revisited – Vinyl is a special edition vinyl LP that features an extended play by the American heavy metal band Metallica. Released on August 21, 1987, by Elektra Records, this album consists entirely of covers of late-70s and early-80s new wave of British heavy metal bands and hardcore punk music. The EP was rehearsed in Lars Ulrich's soundproofed garage and then recorded in Los Angeles over the course of six days. It is the first recording to feature the band's new bassist Jason Newsted and the first release following the death of second bassist Cliff Burton. Metallica's thrash metal sound is taken to new heights on this EP, with intricate compositions that push the limits of the genre.
